The Inca society was based around social classes. Few people had the opportunity to improve their social status. Once a person was born into a social class that was where they would remain for the rest of their life. The class structure was firmly organized. It went from the Emperor to Nobles to the Commeners. The Emperor was the the highest level of the Inca society. He was called Sapa Inca. Nobles were leaders that helped managed the massive empire. Cuacas were nobles that lead the people. The Commoners were the herders and farmers in the class structure.
